I am a writer, blogger, parent, wife and medieval historian. I currently run two blogs alongside my work as a university lecturer.

p class="ql-align-justify">Lellalee was created for all of my fellow mothers, wives, historians, writers, ghost investigators and explorers around the world. My love of all of these labels I pin on myself has inspired me to create this blog and to share my experiences, and so my new and exciting additional label is ‘blogger’.
I have had and still live a hectic life wearing many and varied hats at once – this blog was designed to explore all of the different paths life takes us on, and to document the life of a somewhat ‘ordinary’ individual.

I am a qualified medieval historian having completed my PhD in medieval history in 2017. I lecturer in medieval history at university. I have been working as a freelance writer for the past 5 years, as well as writing professionally as a historian. My PhD thesis was on gender and the Crusades, so if anyone would like to be bored to tears just mention either of those two words and I will be happy to oblige!
For the past 10 years, I have also been working for my brother on his website, Zurleys, and surprisingly our mother hasn’t as yet had to step in and sit us at opposite ends of the room.
My true passion is family – I enjoy documenting all of our moments together and sharing our adventures with others. I haven’t as yet convinced myself that having two children 12 years apart was the wisest of decisions. But I believe I’m coming dangerously close to making it all work well – if I find the winning formula to raising a teen and a toddler, or indeed children generally I’ll be sure to share!
To add a few random facts I’m a super Monty Python fan and a lover of J.R.R. Tolkien and all his works. Ok, let me re-phrase that – I’m obsessed with Monty Python and Tolkien! When I get a chance to watch the T.V. it’s usually time spent watching paranormal shows. Or history documentaries (so I can point out where they’re going wrong) – I’m the world’s greatest critic!
